CHICAGO, IL - DMAXX, LLC and CTA Services LLC have begun a new alliance to deliver TheBooks’ comprehensive back office management capabilities for managed accounts under a service bureau business model.

“We’re excited to offer this new option for CTAs that can’t quite justify the time and expense of a full-blown installation of TheBooks, yet have reached the point in their business where just getting by isn’t good enough anymore,” says Dana Comolli, President of DMAXX. “To compete effectively in today’s marketplace, CTAs need to show they have their back office in order. Daily NAV, quick trade error reconciliation, fast turnaround on monthly performance calculations and streamlined billing are becoming more and more important. And now, with our alliance with CTA Services, even smaller emerging CTAs can have access to everything TheBooks has to offer.”

Adds Alan Zenk, President of CTA Services, “Managing a CTA business today is all about paying attention to details and managing data from several sources. When we originally deployed TheBooks for our own CTA, we were amazed at how well it handles the idiosyncrasies of the managed account business. It gave us many of the capabilities that were sorely missing from our own operation, while freeing up time we used to lose doing our trade allocations and reconciliations. It became obvious to us that we could deliver these benefits to other CTAs at lower cost and without burying great traders in annoying details.”

The integration between ICE and TheBooks means all executions done at the IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) can be automatically routed into TheBooks for block trade assignment, price allocations, and counter-party notifications.

These trades also feed into TheBooks reconciler, position management, and trade accounting components, providing a fully integrated process for trading managed accounts.
