DMAXX President speaks at CTA Expo on the Strategic Impact of a Professional Back Office

Dana Comolli, President of DMAXX, LLC, spoke at the CTA Expo in Chicago on September 13, 2011 as part of that forum’s educational program for CTAs.  In his talk, Dana outlined the changing landscape faced by managers who want to attract institutional assets and the ramifications obtaining these types of allocations bring.

As part of the talk, he detailed the three major classes of issues that institutional managed accounts bring and how Robust Operating Systems, Integrated Order Management, and Customized Transparency can deliver the requirements imposed by these types of investors.

TheBooks version 3.1.0 now in production

The latest version of TheBooks is now in production at customer sites.  Version 3.1.0 contains enhancements in instrument support, execution platforms, reporting, and data visualization as well as a number of enhancements throughout the system.

Instrument Support

  • ICE over the counter daily cash settled energy contracts such as Henry Hub Natural Gas.
  • ICE over the counter Peak/Offpeak electricity contracts

Execution Platforms

  • RealTick has been added as a bi-directional execution platform
  • Goldman Sachs’ Redi+ has been added as a bi-directional platform

Reporting

Several new reports have been added to the system including:

  • instrument income and returns by month
  • a performance metrics report that charts a variety of statistics such as Sharpe/Sortino ratio, upside/downside volatility, and VAMI/Drawdown

Data Visualization

  • The performance explorer has been enhanced to include many new charts as well as the ability to chart user-selected data.
  • All charting in the system has been re-written to allow complete flexibility for chart types, colors, and styles, including support for 3D charts.

DMAXX provides hedging software to New Zealand Power Industry

DMAXX has completed the installation of TheBooks for one of New Zealand’s major power companies, providing a key component in that company’s electricity hedging and market making operations in the Benmore and Otahuhu electricity futures markets.

TheBooks provides trade capture, reconciliation, position management, risk management, data management, and reporting for the operation.   In addition, TheBooks is providing valuation and trading information to the company’s corporate reporting systems.

DMAXX was selected because of TheBooks’ broad functionality which allowed an off-the-shelf solution as well as our extensive background in futures trading and our long time experience with the ASX/SFE markets.

Installation and cutover were completed on schedule during the first week of March.

New Service Bureau Business for Small and Mid-Size CTAs Powered by TheBooks

CHICAGO, IL - DMAXX, LLC and CTA Services LLC have begun a new alliance to deliver TheBooks’ comprehensive back office management capabilities for managed accounts under a service bureau business model.

DMAXX received customer satisfaction scores consistently above all other Microsoft Gold Partners in a recent survey conducted on behalf of Microsoft. With an NAST (Net Satisfaction) score of 190 out of a possible 200, DMAXX bested the average score by more than 20 points.
